The lobby takes its cue from the moment the tide pulls back and leaves soft lines across the sand. That one gesture organises the whole space.

A band of sea-glass terrazzo runs from the arrival door across honed travertine and points at the infinity pool. No signage is needed: the floor shows guests the way to the water.

Reception settles against a wall of mother-of-pearl on one side, while the lounge gathers beneath a cluster of hand-blown glass on the other. Overhead, bleached oak baffles dip in a slow wave toward the sea.

Every material was borrowed from the coastline. The sun through the full-height glazing does the rest, shifting the mood from a bright arrival to a warm, lamp-lit evening.

Design principles

  • Door to sea in one line
  • Shoreline materials
  • Curves, not corners
  • Daylight, then lamplight
  • Low seats, open views

Process

Brief and site study, concept sketch, massing and light study, materials and palette, then plan and visualisation.
